Hi, I’m Abbey! This is me in 2014, watching the sunrise in India. I was just beginning my journey, not only through traveling, but also into wire wrapping. I bought my first stones at a night market along the beaches of Goa and spent the next few years teaching myself how to create jewelry wherever I went.

Abbey [on the] Road

Hellooo beautiful souls! My name is Abbey and I’m the hands, heart, and soul behind every creation in my shop. Everything you see is entirely hand crafted and photographed from my small apartment in Lyon, France. I pour my heart and soul into my work and I hope that you find something special that brings some magic into your life!

A little background story…

After finishing my bachelors in Fashion Design, I decided that I wanted nothing to do with the complex and catty commercial fashion industry, so I hopped online and registered my Etsy shop with the intent of upcycling thrift store finds. Before I even uploaded my first item, my life decided to turn down a different road. I decided to abandon my sewing machine and move to South Korea to teach English. Little did I know that this was only the beginning of my journey.

After a few months of living abroad, I was going stir crazy without my sewing machine, so I decided to head to the craft store and buy the only roll of wire they had along with a basic set of pliers and some beads. This is where I fell in love with the complexity, beauty, and endless creativity of wire wrapping.

Now, every country I travel to, my bag is weighed down by a few extra kilos from my supplies, but it is worth the weight for the inspiration I find along the road from the people I meet and the sites I see. The inspiration for these pieces comes from North America, South Korea, Thailand, Laos, India, Vietnam, Japan, Australia, and, most recently, where I followed my heart and the love of my life, in France.

Even though my traveling days have calmed down quite a bit and I’ve started to plant my roots, I’ll never stop growing, dreaming, or creating. Every piece holds a story, captures a moment of my journey, and is another brick in my road.
