Which is better—Youtube memberships or Skool memberships?
To be honest, Skool memberships are better for both of us! While the membership prices are similar on Youtube at $4.99 - $9.99, Youtube take a 30% cut of all memberships AND if you happen to sign up on your iPhone, Apple will charge YOU 30% more per month (always sign up from your computer!). It’s true, that some tutorials are are available on my Youtube at a lower membership tier, and if that’s the case, then you should definitely choose the cheaper option, but Skool memberships support me more and provide you with ad-free tutorials plus exclusive tutorials that haven’t been released on Youtube yet.
Why are some tutorial videos free on Youtube?
It was never my goal to make learning unaffordable, but unfortunately my life and business experienced some major changes over the past year, and I had to pivot from selling jewelry to teaching as a source of income. Sometimes a video takes off on Youtube and I can keep it free because the ad revenue helps support my channel (and me) financially. Tutorials take A LOT of planning, practicing, filming, editing, and promoting, and in the end, sometimes I would only make about $5 from 5 hours of work for a Youtube video, even if the content was good quality. In these situations, I’ve decided to make these videos members only videos for Youtube and Skool to help break even. If a video does well on YouTube, I keep it for free with ads, so the more you watch and support my channel, the more videos I can offer for free! (Please keep in mind that even if a video is free on Youtube, it may be part of a membership plan in my Skool community but this version will be ad-free)
